Environment for Worship

This group of dedicated parishioners provide the appropriate environment for worship 52 weeks each year. We do so with minimal funds and maximum imagination to transform the worship environments into the appropriate liturgical season. We adhere to all archdiocesan rules and regulations. The Source Book is used as our reference guide. We have created a cutting garden (it maybe the original and possibly the only one in the archdiocese) located at the rear of the Rectory. Including our own Master Gardener who is in charge of this marvelous source of greenery and flowers. we have a small dedicated group of people who share the work, For major Liturgical seasonal changes we invite parish members to join us, and they do! We are always seeking new members. No experience is necessary, just an open heart and willing hands. Come and join us. Retsil Veteran Home Ministry

St. Gabriel has been supporting Catholic residents at the Washington State Veterans Home since 1985. Volunteers have gathered to help the residents of Retsil participate in the rosary, weekly masses and communion services. Rosary is held each Wednesday at 1:00 pm followed by mass at 1:30 pm. Anointing of the sick was added in 2012 and it is scheduled the first Wednesday of each month. Volunteers assist residents who are wheel chair bound to/from the chapel to attend masses. A social ministry after weekly services for residents adds to faith building of this Christian community. Refreshments are provided by volunteers of ST. Gabriel Parish on a rotating basis. Sunday communion is distributed by route ministers from St. Gabriel which is an added time for prayer and reflection for the residents. Anyone who is physically able to assist the residents in attending mass or participation in the social ministers afterwards. For more information please contact Sandy Maes at (360) 871-9442 or email pmskip@wavecable.com.
